Holland Commons groundbreaking set for June 5

From Local Sources

HOLLAND — The Holland Events Committee has planned a groundbreaking ceremony for the Holland Commons, an Indiana Bicentennial Legacy Project in the center of town.

The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday June 5 in downtown Holland. Refreshments will follow at the Holland Volunteer Fire Department Open House from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Holland Commons will use a town-owned lot at Fourth and Main streets, just west of the post office, as the site for a 24-foot gazebo; a commemorative flagpole honoring the men and women of the community who are serving or have served the nation; an Indiana limestone sign that includes Holland’s history to welcome guests; and a green space with native trees to shade visitors and bicycle racks to enhance wellness.
