Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group and the City of Huntingburg were presented with a Merit Award for Design for its work on developing the design and vision for the park.

In its presentation of the award, INASLA noted that the Market Street Park project provides a rare opportunity to enhance the public realm of historic Downtown Huntingburg, and in the process, provide linkages to additional transportation (trail) options along 4th Street, enhance the setting around the historic Old Town Hall, and establish a permanent home for the signature community gatherings, festivals and events in the heart of downtown.

They noted that the project continues to promote the community and provide additional programming opportunities that are different than the other active recreation park spaces within the city. As a return on this investment, additional economic development projects are already becoming reality as a direct result of what the creation of this new public space offers for the community. The Market Street Park project is setting the stage for a healthy and productive downtown community for decades to come.
