Tri-Cap preschoolers will be able to explore a musical playground starting next week.
The local organization, which has offices in Dubois, Pike, Warrick and Vanderburgh counties, has operated on a mission to provide health, housing and educational services and empower local residents to achieve personal and economic comfort for the last 50 years. Most recently, Tri-Cap was selected as the charity of choice for the Jasper Rotary Club.
That designation means the club will redirect fundraising dollars to Tri-Cap, creating a partnership with Jasper High School to design, build and install an outdoor musical playground device to be utilized by more than 60 Tri-Cap preschoolers at the playground on Tri-Cap’s Jasper campus on Third Avenue.
The structure will be permanently installed near an outdoor stage on the Tri-Cap playground at 4 p.m. next Wednesday. On Thursday, May 19, at 12:30 p.m., preschoolers and Rotarians will be on hand to receive lessons on how to use the equipment, which will be properly tuned and labeled so children can learn simple musical pieces while they play outdoors.
